How to collect a hair sample?

To ensure a reliable sample for analysis, follow the guidelines below:

      Sample Preparation

The hair should not be washed (at least 3 days should pass after bathing). Brush it thoroughly before collection.

      Collection Areas

For dogs and cats, collect hair from several areas: the elbow region, groin, hip, shoulder blade, and tail (to avoid visible collection marks). For horses, collect the sample from the mane.

      Collection Method

Cut the hair with sharp scissors close to the skin. Keep a 1.5–2 cm section from the root end and discard the rest.

      Sample Amount

Collect approximately 300–400 mg of material (about one level tablespoon).

      Short Hair

For short hair, use clippers. The required sample amount remains the same.

      Repeat Testing

To monitor changes over time, the analysis can be repeated after approximately 6 months.
